Penticton makes top 10 best destinations in world!!

Penticton, B.C. is one of the 10 best places in the world to visit, according to a survey of Facebook users by the on-line publication The Huffington Post.

The publication says it analyzed more than 200-million comments and other travel references on the social network site to come up with the list.

The article says Penticton– nestled in the OkanaganValley about a five hour drive east of Vancouver– is becoming a year-round vacation hot spot with its beautiful beaches, a burgeoning wine industry and many outdoor activities.

Eric Sorensen, chair of the Penticton Business Development Group, calls the ranking a “huge coup” for his city. He says now the world knows about the area’s natural assets and the local tourism business is looking forward to welcoming new visitors as a result of the article.
